Frequently Asked Questions
Below are Some Answers to the Most Commonly Asked Questions
What are your rates?
Dog boarding services are $35/night for the 1st dog and $25/night for additional dogs. On the day of pick-up, if you pick up your fur babies at the morning pick-up time, pick-up day is free. If you pick up after the morning pick-up time, there will be a day rate of $25/dog for that day.

Doggy daycare only is $25 per dog per day.

We also offer dog baths at $30 for a standard bath or $40 for a furminator shampoo and conditioner bath and brush out with a furminator brush. Most people find the furminator bath and brush out make a significant difference when shedding.

For major holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Valentine's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, the 4th of July, and Labor Day, our rates are $10 more per dog per day or night the day before, day of, and day after the holiday. Our family and workers sacrifice their time with their own families and other loved ones to care for your fur babies so you can spend quality time with your human family. We pay our workers extra for sacrificing that time. Thank you for understanding and honoring them with us as they work hard to serve you and your fur babies with the utmost loving care and frequent attention.
Do the dogs stay inside all the time?
No. While we do have a nice space indoors for your fur baby (or fur babies) that is air-conditioned in the warmer months and heated in the cold winter months, whenever possible (usually at least every few hours), we let the dogs out for supervised play and potty time outside. We spend a lot of time playing with the dogs and making sure they can get the exercise (and love) you'd like them to have while they're at their home away from home with us.

When it is really hot or super cold outside, the dogs stay inside more than they do out, because we don't want them getting overheated or too cold. They will still get to go out every few hours for potty breaks and playtime, but their time outside will be more limited. We want your beloved fur babies to stay safe, comfortable, and enjoy their time.
What are the drop off and pick up times?
Drop-off and Pick-up times are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday between 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. or 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday drop-off and pick-up times are between 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. or in the evening between 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. We are closed on Sundays for pick-ups and drop-offs.
Will my dog be playing with other dogs while they are visiting?
Do your dogs live together and get along well? Then yes, we will let them play together. Otherwise, they will be completely separate from all of the other dogs and will play with us - the humans taking care of them - and never be left out unattended.
Each and every dog is unique, with their own personality and preferences, so the time it takes for them to adjust to another dog can vary. It's essential to always keep their safety and well-being in mind. It's not typical for all dogs to adjust to each other in the short time span they're being boarded. In our opinion, the risk of an accident happening with 2 unfamiliar dogs is too high, and your dogs are too important to risk anything happening.
Instead, we will play with your dog(s) and stay with them during their play times and potty breaks. When inside, they will not have physical contact with any other dogs in our care.
What do you require we bring for boarding our dog(s)?
Before or at the time of drop off, please bring their most up-to-date vaccination records, including the following vaccinations: Bordetella (kennel cough vaccination), Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus.
Annually, we will need to see that a fecal exam with negative results has also been completed at the vet. The vet can do this at your next vaccination appointment).

If your dog has not been treated for fleas and ticks in the last 30 days before arriving, we must administer flea medication to them upon arrival. There will be an additional charge of $15 per dog we have to give flea medication to, so please keep that in mind. This does not cover ticks and, though we treat our outdoors for fleas and ticks, we are in a wooded area, so if you can treat them ahead of time, that's really the best option.
You can email your vaccination records ahead of time (which we highly recommend doing at least 1.5 weeks ahead of time, if possible) to kingstyledogboarding@gmail.com or you can text them to us or upload them into our system, once you get a link to your customer portal. We also request that you bring their leash, any medication they need to take (and instructions if they're not already on the bottle), and the food they are used to eating. We always recommend bringing more food than you think they will need. If you have any specific toys you'd like them to play with, feel free to bring those.
Note: It is hard on a dog's stomach to switch to a new dog food cold turkey, and it can often cause diarrhea, so it's always best if they can stay on the food they're used to having at home. We will provide the rest. If we have to go pick up dog food for you, there is a charge of $15 for us to do that and then we will also need to be reimbursed for the cost of the dog food.
Can I bring toys or a blanket or other things for my dog?
Absolutely! Just keep in mind anything you want us to put in their crate could get destroyed by them while they're in there and we can't be held liable for that. We promise to do our best to help keep them occupied and exercised as much as possible and that should help, but we can't make any guarantees.
If your dog is a chewer, please do not bring a bed for them, because that is a safety hazard if they swallow their bed.
Please also do not bring raw hides, as those are not deemed safe for dogs and are a choking hazard.
How much notice do you need ahead of time to get my dog(s) on your schedule for boarding?
During off-season, it is possible you can get on our calendar for boarding up to the day before you need to leave, especially if you're looking for boarding, daycare, baths, or training on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. However, contacting us as soon as you know you need our boarding services will help ensure we are available and have enough space to keep your dog(s) for you. Holidays especially tend to book quickly, so we recommend contacting us as soon as you can. During the busy season, we usually need 3-5 weeks notice to secure a spot. Sometimes, you might get lucky, but if you can avoid chancing it and get your fur baby/babies on the calendar earlier, that's always the best idea.
What is your cancellation policy?
Because we can only take in a certain amount of dogs at a time, we do require a minimum of 7 days' notice (unless there is a legitimate emergency) to cancel and get your deposit back. Please don't make up a story to get out of it. Your booking with our small, family-owned business helps provide for our family, and if you cancel too soon before your scheduled booking, we likely won't be able to fill their spot(s) fast enough.
How do I pay?
If the stay is less than 4 days, full payment is due at the time of booking. to reserve their space. Otherwise, half of the amount of the stay is due to reserve their spot up front and the remaining balance will be due when you drop off your dog(s). The deposit goes toward the total stay and is refundable up to 7 days before their stay. We do NOT accept checks, but you can pay via card or cash. Please note that there is a 3.5% card processing fee if you pay via card instead of cash.
Do you offer training while I'm away?
Yes! We offer dog training while your dog is with us for just $30 per 30 minute session. We can show you the training commands your dog learned while they were here and teach you how to work with your doggy when you come to pick them up. We offer training with you and your dog together too, if you'd like!

For more advanced behavioral training, we have partnered with Baird Waggin' Dog Training and she comes to our location for training sessions as well!

Aside from that, we have 3 people on staff who specialize in basic and intermediate dog training.
